Mr. Bill spoke to us this morning about water filters. A group, including myself, is going to the Dominican Republic in June and one of the things we are doing is taking water filters to the people in the sugar cane villages. There are over 6,000 sugar cane villages in the DR that do not have access to clean, safe drinking water. One of these water filters provide more than enough water for a family's daily drinking, cooking and cleaning needs. We are taking up donations in Sunday School between now and May 10, to go towards the purchase of water filters. I hope you will take this opportunity to help our team share the love of Christ with the people of the Dominican Republic by providing them with clean water.

Praise and Prayer 4/18/10
Praise:
Butts: sales up; good report from son's church in Romania
Vernetti: update on Taylor- good report from heart doc; told her to drink gal water and take salt tabs, should be better in 3 months
Prayer Requests:
Butts: Raising support for Romania
Holt: EGD test April 28th
Kirkland: Ashlyn has croup cough
Petersohn: pray for family of teens who overturned van on I65 where 1 died
Vernetti: continue to pray for Taylor/fainting spells; Kim's grandmother Frances Hammond, needs surgery to remove part of colon for damage from diverticulitis, not strong enough right now, also there is an abcess that could be cancerous; friend, Krista, having hysterectomy tomorrow, then will have to spend a few days in psychiatric, because she has had extreme depression associated with any hormone changes; UNSPOKEN

Buckner: Luke's mom in hospital, having heart cath on Monday
Kirkland: Sandy had mammogram pray for good results
Petersohn: city leadership
Strickland: Scott's dad having epidural this week
Vernetti: Taylor still having fainting/dizzy spells; heart echo showed leaking mitral valve; Willingham family in Lawrence County lost 16 year old son to drowning Friday afternoon
